About the position

The Staff Business Intelligence Developer, Core Data at Ibotta plays a crucial role in empowering the organization to make data-driven decisions. This position involves leading the Business Intelligence strategy and implementation, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring the effective use of data across the company. The developer will be responsible for creating and optimizing ETL processes, automating reporting, and enhancing data quality, all while upholding Ibotta's core values.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Business Intelligence strategy and implementation for the analytics organization.
  • Coordinate with Business Intelligence leads and managers to ensure best practices and single sources of truth are adopted.
  • Engage in requirements gathering and feedback sessions with business stakeholders to inform Business Intelligence strategy.
  • Provide support through reporting, monitoring, tracking, and analyzing business performance and results.
  • Analyze requirements and architect appropriate solutions with detailed design documents.
  • Leverage reporting best practices to automate reports and maximize reporting output.
  • Create and refine visual representations and communication of complex data.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize ETL and pipelines related to Business Intelligence.
  • Extract, wrangle, and automate large data transfers to democratize data.
  • Lead efforts to improve the quality of various data streams or ingest new data.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in Analytics within an agile organization or equivalent academic work.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field required.
  • Extensive experience with Looker.
  • 7-10+ years of practical work experience in SQL.
  • Proven ability to develop, maintain, automate, visualize, and communicate reporting for management and internal stakeholders.
  • Consistent ability to work collaboratively throughout the organization to drive towards common goals.
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate data, processes, and results to senior leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detailed-oriented team player with an ownership mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Airflow, Databricks, Git, Python.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture.
