About the position

H2M Architects Engineers is a multi-disciplined professional consulting and design firm with a long history of client service, consistently meeting tough architectural, engineering, and environmental challenges. We are seeking a Staff Civil Engineer with 0 to 4 years of experience to join our Civil Engineering Department in Parsippany, NJ. This position will involve working under the guidance of Senior Engineers to perform design, computations, and evaluations associated with civil/site, municipal, and land development projects. The candidate will develop construction documents and specifications for a full range of public and private sector civil engineering projects, prepare due diligence and site feasibility studies, and perform site investigations to assess and document field conditions. Additionally, the role includes responding to and addressing regulatory comments to obtain agency approvals, performing project administration tasks such as gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and preparing reports. Collaboration with other disciplines within the firm and conducting field inspections at construction sites while interacting with contractors will also be key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design, computations, and evaluations associated with civil/site, municipal & land development projects.
  • Develop construction documents and specifications for a full range of public and private sector civil engineering projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Strong computer skills including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Applications and Photoshop.
  • 0 to 2 years design experience with a specific focus on civil/site and municipal engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas.
  • Team-spirited and self-motivated.
  • Focused and eager to learn.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • EIT desired.
