About the position

Tectonic is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to work on solar, EV, and wireless telecommunications projects within our Latham, NY Office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and advancement, allowing you to collaborate with a diverse team of licensed A/E/C industry professionals. The essential functions of this position include working collaboratively on various types of civil, solar, and telecommunications projects with staff engineers and CAD designers, as well as clients and third-party vendors. The goal is to assist in the process of providing high-quality deliverables to our clients. As a Civil Engineer, you will be involved in the design, inspection, and coordination of all phases of civil/site development. This includes new site builds, site layouts, and modifications and upgrades on wireless telecommunications cell site projects. Additional responsibilities include generating required engineering reports for review, performing site visits to gather data and conduct site inspections, reviewing drawings and calculations, and engaging in site grading and drainage design. This position may require occasional overnight travel, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in your work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on various civil, solar, and telecommunications projects with staff engineers and CAD designers.
• Assist clients and third-party vendors to provide high-quality deliverables.
• Design, inspect, and coordinate all phases of civil/site development.
• Work on new site builds, site layouts, and modifications on wireless telecommunications cell site projects.
• Generate required engineering reports for review.
• Perform site visits to gather data and conduct site inspections.
• Review drawings and calculations related to projects.
• Engage in site grading and drainage design.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering; EIT is strongly preferred.
• 0-5 years of experience, with interest in solar, civil, and wireless telecommunications projects.
• SWPP experience preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD 2020 or newer; Civil 3D experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle for travel to job sites.
