The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical data managers and adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems and pipelines for clinical data management and biostatistics processes.
  • Extract, load, and transform data for analysis.
  • Automate routine data management and analysis tasks through application development.
  • Support the development and validation of analytics applications for clinical trials.
  • Document data engineering processes and pipelines in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical data managers and database developers to support current and legacy database systems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Data Analytics Engineering preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a data engineering capacity, preferably in the biosciences industry.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines & ETL/ELT processes using code-based programming.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL; experience in Scala and Java is a plus.
  • Familiarity with dashboard languages such as PowerBI, Qlik, or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Experience with modern database platforms like SnowFlake and DataLake is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data transformation tools such as Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
  • Understanding of data warehousing principles, data analytics, machine learning, and data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodology.
  • Familiarity with clinical data standards.
