In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining systems and pipelines that bridge clinical data management and biostatistics processes. You will leverage your programming, data analytics, and data engineering skills to extract, load, and transform data, preparing it for further analysis. Your contributions will include developing applications to automate routine data management and analysis tasks, supporting the development and validation of analytics applications to improve the quality and predictability of clinical trials, and ensuring that all applications and pipelines adhere to best practices and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will maintain, develop, and improve clinical data management and biostatistical processes and standard operating procedures. Documentation of data engineering processes and pipelines will also be a key responsibility. You will collaborate with clinical data managers and database developers to support both current and legacy database systems, ensuring that our data management practices are efficient and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems and pipelines that bridge clinical data management and biostatistics processes.
  • Leverage programming, data analytics, and data engineering skills to extract, load, and transform data for analysis.
  • Develop applications to automate routine data management and analysis tasks.
  • Support the development and validation of analytics applications to improve the quality and predictability of clinical trials.
  • Ensure applications and pipelines are consistent with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain, develop, and improve clinical data management and biostatistical processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Document data engineering processes and pipelines.
  • Collaborate with clinical data managers and database developers to support current and legacy database systems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Data Analytics Engineering preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a data engineering capacity, preferably within the biosciences industry.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines & ETL/ELT processes using code-based programming.
  • Strong programming experience in Python, R, and SQL required; experience in Scala and Java is a plus.
  • Experience with dashboard languages such as PowerBI, Qlik, or Tableau is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modern database platforms, such as SnowFlake and DataLake, preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with data transformation tools such as Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
  • Education and experience in data warehousing principles, data analytics, machine learning, and deep learning software engineering.
  • Familiarity with SCRUM/Agile methodology, clinical data standards, and data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
