About the position

The Staff Counsel - Product position at Intuit involves serving as a core legal partner for the Consumer Group, which includes products like TurboTax and Credit Karma. The role focuses on advising product teams on various legal matters, including AI/ML, consumer protection, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that the company meets its business strategy while remaining compliant with legal standards. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy and passionate about product compliance and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel product teams on legal matters related to AI/ML, consumer protection, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide legal support for TurboTax AI and consumer platform innovation.
• Collaborate with product management, business strategy, engineering, content design, marketing, security, compliance, and operations teams.
• Produce clear and succinct legal analysis for various product-related issues.
• Communicate effectively with business partners about regulatory obligations and risk management.
• Lead day-to-day product and business counseling for the Consumer Group.

Requirements

• At least 6-8 years of experience advising technology companies, either at a law firm or in-house.
• Significant knowledge in consumer protection, AI/ML, advertising and marketing laws, financial services, data privacy and protection, and competition law.
• Ability to navigate uncharted areas and balance risk and opportunity.
• Strong creative thinking and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, teaching, and training skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform with minimal supervision.
• JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar.
