About the position

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a Senior Software Tester who will play a crucial role in testing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems. These systems include processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. This role involves conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for both product and commercial software. The Senior Software Tester will also be expected to perform research and manage requirements in addition to their software testing duties. This position requires a strong understanding of software design and development processes, as well as the ability to execute test procedures for software components effectively. Responsibilities

  • Test, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers.
  • Perform research and requirements management in addition to software testing.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for software components.

Requirements

  • A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph through the MD customer is required.
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Understanding of design, development, documenting, testing software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures for software components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Java programming language is preferred.
  • Capable of performing research in addition to testing efforts.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually is preferred.
  • Ability to determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems.
