About the position

The Staff Cyber Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman will play a critical role in supporting the Systems Engineering Integration (SEI) Integrated Product Team (IPT) by leading the design, planning, implementation, and assessment of security controls and compliance with established standards. This position requires advanced technical analysis of cyber infrastructure challenges and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and senior management. The role is based in Melbourne, Florida, and requires a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, implement, and assess security controls and compliance with NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD RMF guidance.
  • Assist in designing and developing system security architectures.
  • Provide advanced technical analyses of cyber infrastructure challenges and develop solutions.
  • Participate in team reviews of technical requirements and implementation plans prior to deployment.
  • Ensure product requirements integrate into total systems solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Present solutions to customers and senior management using tailored materials based on the audience.
  • Serve as a Cyber Security engineer (ISSE) providing high-level technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 10 years of experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience.
  • Ability to transfer and maintain a Secret clearance and any required program access.
  • Experience with requirements development, system integration, and validation and verification.
  • DOD 8570 certification at or exceeding IASAE level 1 (CISSP or CASP or CSSLP minimum and CISSP-ISSEP for Level III).

Nice-to-haves

  • DoD 8570 IAM II/III Certification (CAP, GLSC, CISSP, CASP CE).
  • Knowledge of DoD 8500-series and 8510.01 IA policy directives and approaches to cyber security.
