About the position

The Staff Data Analyst plays a crucial role in driving Enterprise Data & Analytics solutions, particularly for Regulatory Reporting in compliance with Large Financial Institution requirements. This position involves collaborating with business and technology teams to ensure alignment of data requirements, documenting data profiling results, and providing expertise in analytics and visualization. The Staff Data Analyst is responsible for developing and publishing analysis artifacts, mentoring other analysts, and leading data solutions in areas such as data quality management, enterprise data warehouse implementation, and data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Data Product Manager, Data Architects, and Data Engineering Manager to ensure data analysis is addressed in the data product development lifecycle for Regulatory Reporting Solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and support processes and best practices for data exploration, profiling, quality, and mapping for Regulatory Reporting Solutions.
  • Define source to target mapping for data transformations in Regulatory Reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with business data owners to execute data profiling and source data analysis for Regulatory Reporting.
  • Participate in data governance activities with Enterprise Data Stewards and Business Data Governance.
  • Develop and manage data lineage, business rules, reference data, and mapping documents in the Metadata Management Tool.
  • Apply data analysis skills to data quality and governance processes and data flows for the enterprise data warehouse and analytics data stores.
  • Prepare analysis findings and communicate them to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Create data visualizations using Power BI to explain data analysis recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, MIS, or Data & Analytics or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years' experience with data analysis related to enterprise data management, including data warehousing and source to target mapping.
  • Strong experience with RDBMS and query languages such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL.
  • Strong experience using analytics tools such as SPSS, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI.
  • Strong experience with data profiling/wrangling tools like Informatica IDMC, Alteryx, Paxata, Trifacta, Tamlr.
  • Strong experience with common file formats such as CSV, TEXT, JSON, XML, XSD.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in banking or financial services with Regulatory Reporting or in a highly regulated industry.
  • Preferred experience in Agile, SAFe, and/or Scrum methodologies.
  • Preferred experience in a data governance function.
  • Preferred experience integrating with data quality, data catalog, and data lineage tools.
  • Preferred certifications in Azure such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Scientist, and/or Azure DevOps Engineer.
  • Preferred experience integrating and using data science or statistical solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Agile, SAFe, and/or Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data governance function.
  • Certifications within Azure such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Scientist, and/or Azure DevOps Engineer.
