About the position

10x Genomics is seeking a Staff Data Analyst to join its Business Solutions organization, focusing on developing innovative analytics to support business strategies. This role involves enhancing business workflows and systems to enable data-driven decision-making, supporting the company's growth and scalability. The analyst will lead the design and implementation of foundational analytics and user experience (Ux) for critical projects within the productivity engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary source of analytics and Ux engineering projects from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Develop Ux for business analytics to support the kaizen project funnel across all business functions.
  • Design and develop system and process improvements for user-friendly analytics interfaces and algorithms.
  • Support designs and deliverables with high-quality design flows and documentation.
  • Proactively solve problems and monitor jobs, identifying and resolving data-related issues.
  • Navigate loosely defined problems to design scalable and cost-effective analytics solutions.
  • Leverage Snowflake and external data sources to enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Interpret quantitative data to identify patterns and trends for decision-making and build visualizations.
  • Accountable for documented 'statement of work' proposals and ensure complete project documentation.
  • Ensure high analytics quality and stability in designs built by this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; ideally a master's in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
  • 7 years' development experience in analytics, data engineering, Ux design, or related fields.
  • Programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
  • Experience with data visualization strategies, methods, and tools.
  • Experience with analytics enabling platforms such as Snowflake, Retool, PowerBI, or Tableau.
  • Experience in data modeling and performance optimization techniques.
