About the position

As a Data Engineer with the Data Analytics & Accounting Software Engineering team, you will be responsible for processing structured and unstructured data, validating data quality, and developing and supporting data products. This role requires strong hands-on experience in all layers of data integration and analytics, particularly leveraging Python for ETL processes and managing BI platforms such as Tableau and PowerBI. You will play a significant role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging technologies to ensure the team stays ahead in the field. Your responsibilities will include designing, coding, testing, correcting, and documenting programs and scripts using agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result. You will derive an overall strategy for data management within an established information architecture that supports the development and secure operation of existing and new information and digital services. Effective planning for data storage, security, sharing, and publishing within the organization will also be a key part of your role. You will gather and process raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch and real-time data processing frameworks, ensuring data quality and implementing tools and frameworks for automating the identification of data quality issues. Collaboration with internal and external data providers on data validation will be essential, as will mentoring and leading other data engineers by providing technical guidance and oversight. Ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, correct and document programs and scripts using agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result
  • Derive an overall strategy of data management within an established information architecture
  • Plan effective data storage, security, sharing and publishing within the organization
  • Gather and process raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch and real-time data processing frameworks
  • Ensure data quality and implement tools and frameworks for automating the identification of data quality issues
  • Collaborate with internal and external data providers on data validation
  • Mentor and lead data engineers providing technical guidance and oversight
  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products

Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years of development experience at an Enterprise level in Informatica, Python & Tableau
  • Strong experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL and Vertica
  • NoSQL databases experience is a plus
  • Strong background with data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques
  • Experience with design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems
  • Working experience with Kafka Streaming layer
  • Experience in Spark Framework on both batch and real-time data processing is a plus
  • Experience in Big Data Integration & Analytics is a plus
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
