About The Position
SiriusXM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Data Engineer (Infrastructure) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining a robust, scalable, and secure data infrastructure that supports our data professionals. Your work will fuel innovation, facilitate informed decision-making, and drive sustainable growth within the organization. The mission of this position is to deploy, maintain, and scale the foundation of our data platform, ensuring it serves as a trusted and efficient hub for data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud technologies, data engineering, infrastructure as code, API design, and will have experience applying software engineering and DevOps best practices. As a Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining various components of the data infrastructure, including cloud infrastructure, data lakes, observability solutions, and system integrations. You will research and recommend new technologies to address strategic issues and introduce relevant technical solutions that enhance productivity, scalability, quality, and reliability of the data platform. Your role will also involve setting high coding standards for the data platform team, assisting team members in overcoming obstacles, and encouraging innovative thinking to develop breakthrough solutions. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data infrastructure needs and translate them into effective, user-friendly solutions. You will implement best practices for data infrastructure design, identify and address bottlenecks in existing systems, and design observability solutions to monitor resource utilization and performance. Additionally, you will communicate project status, issues, and solutions effectively to stakeholders and team members, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
