About the position

The Staff Data Engineer will serve as the go-to expert for AI product, engineering, and data science teams regarding the use, handling, and governance of data for AI applications. This role involves establishing and refining end-to-end processes for compliant use of AI/ML assets, ensuring safe and accurate data sourcing, transport, transformation, and storage, while providing governance and oversight across the data lifecycle for AI use cases and products.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to expert for AI product, engineering, and data science teams regarding data use and governance.
• Establish and refine end-to-end processes for compliant use of AI/ML assets within defined policies and standards.
• Confirm the safe, compliant, accurate, and controlled sourcing, transport, transformation, and storage of data.
• Provide governance and oversight for the compliant use of data assets across the data lifecycle for AI use cases and products.
• Manage AI data access requests and approve data usage by use case for other teams.
• Act as a liaison to ServiceNow's data governance team and represent the AI team in committees.
• Create reports for ServiceNow's leadership teams on the use of data assets across the AI product portfolio.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related experience.
• 3+ years of experience with data architecture, governance, management, and/or stewardship disciplines.
• 3+ years of experience developing standards and policies for significant organizational initiatives.
• Experience in regulatory and data compliant environments.
• Experience managing upstream and downstream data consumption needs for applications.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
