About the position

The Staff Data Engineer at 2K will focus on delivering data solutions for business and studio needs. This role involves designing and building data models, APIs, and data products to enhance data integration across systems. The engineer will monitor data pipelines, communicate issues, and collaborate with business partners and developers to ensure project requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build data models to support Data Science and Business Intelligence.
  • Develop APIs and data products for better data integration.
  • Monitor data pipelines and communicate issues to leadership and partners.
  • Collaborate with business partners and developers to document and agree on project requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts with developers and leadership.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Mathematics.
  • 7+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer/Architect.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault).
  • Deep expertise in Python and experience organizing Python-based projects.
  • Experience with data streaming technologies like Kafka or Kinesis.
  • Exposure to AWS environment and knowledge of Databricks is a plus.
  • Expertise in SQL and SQL-like query languages on Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS Data capabilities.
  • Experience building software services and APIs using Python frameworks such as Flask.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms (Snowflake, Vertica, Hive, Spark, Presto, Airflow).
  • Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience defining automated unit and integration testing frameworks for data projects.
  • Functional understanding of privacy and compliance practices around data (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
