About the position

The Staff Data Scientist, Marketing at Realtor.com is responsible for leveraging data analytics to enhance marketing strategies and improve user engagement across various platforms. This role involves creating comprehensive reporting systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and optimizing media performance through data-driven insights. The position aims to democratize analytics within the organization, ensuring that data informs decision-making processes related to marketing and customer acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Create full funnel reporting for the Seller business to understand consumer behavior, engagement, and retention across all platforms.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, product, and engineering to establish measurement best practices for SEM/performance media.
  • Prescribe different levers available on paid search to optimize media performance and track their effectiveness.
  • Deliver SEM insights across the customer journey to inform acquisition strategies and develop decision-making frameworks around KPIs.
  • Automate reporting deliverables for cross-functional teams, including external stakeholders like Google and Bing.
  • Analyze test data integrations and develop hypotheses around media experiments.
  • Manage campaign budgets and optimization efforts across geographic and demographic segments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience in analytics or data science.
  • Experience with setting up campaigns on Google Search Ads.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager and debugging server-side tracking issues.
  • Ability to analyze search query reports for keyword insights and landing page optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large volumes of complex data.
  • Expertise in measurement and statistical analyses for stakeholders.
  • Proficient in SQL and either intermediate Python or R.
  • Ability to create ETL pipelines using Dbt and Airflow.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics, information management, or a related discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with floodlights in Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience in creative testing and landing page optimization.
