About the position

As a Staff Data Scientist at Intuit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of TurboTax by leveraging causal inference methods to drive decision-making across marketing, product, and business strategy. This position is part of the cross-functional Decision Science Team, where you will be at the forefront of enhancing business performance through advanced quantitative methods. Your work will empower leaders, product managers, marketing managers, and analysts to make informed decisions, uncover new opportunities, and shape strategic initiatives by tackling complex, high-stakes technical challenges. You will be responsible for leading end-to-end causal inference projects, which will significantly influence the company's critical decisions. This is a unique opportunity to redefine the application of econometrics and statistics within a major tech company, allowing you to make a substantial impact from the ground up. In this role, you will bring your expertise in statistical and econometric methods to the table, applying them rigorously to solve problems and drive business value. You will be expected to navigate through ambiguity, delivering results that have a significant impact on the organization. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues will be crucial as you advise and mentor other economists and data scientists on best practices in causal inference. You will also be responsible for identifying quasi-experimental opportunities, conducting relevant analyses, and collaborating with leadership to translate findings into actionable strategies. By establishing scalable processes and systems, you will ensure that the capabilities developed are sustainable and can deliver ongoing business value.
