The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. We are seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a new Ground program. This position can be filled at Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA, Linthicum, MD or Aurora CO. As a DevOps Engineer, you will plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to execute programs which support rapid maturation and deployment of capability while sustaining a stable security posture and incorporating ongoing stakeholder feedback. You will integrate development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks. Your role will involve implementing provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging, componentizing, or Cloud distribution, and functioning with agile principles to execute efficiently in an environment of continuous feedback. You will ensure the implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to execute programs supporting rapid maturation and deployment of capability.
  • Integrate development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks.
  • Implement provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging, componentizing, or Cloud distribution.
  • Function with agile principles to execute efficiently in an environment of continuous feedback.
  • Ensure implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience; 12 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree; 9 years of relevant experience with a PhD; or 18 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with developing microservices.
  • Must hold a Security+ Certification.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS/C2S, and Terraform.
  • Experience with Linux and Ansible.
  • Experience with Jira, Jenkins, and Git/Version Control Software.
  • Ability to express technical information clearly at different organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with API Security, Container Security, AWS Cloud Security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Polygraph (CI or FSP).
  • Experience creating, developing, and implementing solutions to address infrastructure and security requirements.
  • Ability to identify the needs to build automation, designing and implementing CICD solutions.
  • Experience working with Docker containers and Helm charts.
  • Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design.
  • Experience with Agile development.
  • Excellent technical writing and team building skills.
