About the position

The Staff DevOps Engineer at Array is a hands-on technical leader responsible for optimizing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines to support the rapid and reliable deployment of high-quality products. This role involves collaboration with engineering teams, product managers, and cross-functional partners to ensure infrastructure and processes align with business objectives, ultimately enabling efficient and secure product delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of our CI/CD pipeline, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and security.
  • Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts and configurations to support high-frequency, low-risk deployments.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers across teams, guiding them in leveraging CI/CD best practices and optimizing their development workflows.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for both technical and non-technical colleagues, enabling them to better understand and contribute to DevOps processes and tools.
  • Leverage your expertise to improve developer velocity and user experience by reducing deployment bottlenecks.
  • Drive innovation within our infrastructure, implementing AI-driven tools and solutions that increase efficiency and automation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in DevOps, with a strong track record of improving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for fast-paced development environments.
  • A solid understanding of containerization, orchestration, and cloud infrastructure, particularly with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins (or similar CI/CD platforms).
  • A background in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • A passion for building developer tools and streamlining workflows for the engineering team.
  • A strong focus on security and best practices in infrastructure, coupled with an understanding of compliance requirements.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a bias towards action and delivering iterative improvements.
