About the position

We are actively looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer with excellent technical expertise who is interested in joining our growing team. As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and supporting Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for multiple applications. You will work in various cloud environments, both public and on-premises, and will be tasked with developing and deploying infrastructure using different Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Regular application deployments across different environments will be a key part of your responsibilities. In addition to deployment tasks, you will create and support development documentation, including test plans and deployment strategies. Analyzing and investigating production issues and incidents will be crucial, as you will need to elaborate steps to reduce risks and improve application quality metrics. You will also be involved in troubleshooting microservices in high-load environments and maintaining current production environments. Automation of the deployment process and support for the existing infrastructure will be essential, as will configuring and developing application and infrastructure monitoring processes. Collaboration with other teams and departments, including Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Quality Assurance (QA), and infrastructure teams, will be a significant aspect of your role. The position may involve travel to the company headquarters once a year, and it may allow for remote work or relocation to various locations across the United States, including client sites and Grid Dynamics' offices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and support CI/CD pipelines for multiple applications.
  • Work in different Cloud environments (public and on-premises).
  • Develop and deploy infrastructure using different Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools in various cloud environments.
  • Regular application deployments for different environments.
  • Create and support development documentation such as test plans, deployment strategies, and analysis.
  • Analyze and investigate production issues and incidents, elaborate steps to reduce risks, and improve application quality metrics.
  • Troubleshoot microservices in high-load environments.
  • Maintain current production environments.
  • Automate deployment process and support current infrastructure.
  • Configure and develop application and infrastructure monitoring processes.
  • Work closely with other teams and departments, including SRE, QA, and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered or at least TWO (2) years of experience in Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, Linux, Trivy, and Python.
  • Two years of experience must also include at least ONE (1) year of experience in Spinnaker and Jaeger.
