About the position

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a Staff DevSecOps Software Engineer to join our team in New York, Pennsylvania. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic environment, contributing to solutions that support the US Army's critical missions. As a member of the RMS C6ISR team, you will leverage your expertise in DevSecOps and software engineering to support the Terrestrial Layer System Echelons Above Brigade (TLS-EAB) program. This program is pivotal in generating capabilities that enhance Lockheed Martin's leadership in the SIGINT, Cyberspace, and Electronic Warfare (EW) domains. In this role, you will be responsible for operationalizing technical capabilities of multiple waveforms for extended-range terrestrial sensing, collection, and electronic attack. Your contributions will span various phases of the software engineering development process, including architecture, design, development, integration, and testing. You will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals in an Agile development environment, ensuring flexibility and detail orientation while effectively communicating with scrum teams, program leadership, and stakeholders. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include integrating open and modular hardware and software solutions in the field of Radio Frequency (RF) systems, developing mission management software, engaging in daily scrum meetings, and supporting Integration & Test (I&T) teams to troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our warfighters.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate open and modular hardware and software solutions in the field of Radio Frequency (RF) systems.
  • Develop mission management software required to support integration and control of waveform processing applications.
  • Engage in daily scrum and other weekly agile meetings.
  • Support Integration & Test (I&T) teams on a sprint to sprint basis to troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration challenges.
  • Work closely with system engineers and cybersecurity professionals to address system requirements and security considerations.

Requirements

  • Experience developing full stack software using a variety of languages, including C++, Python, and Java.
  • Knowledge of modern DevSecOps tools and practices, including Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI, Nexus, Ansible, and Helm.
  • Proficiency in developing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Experience working with Linux OS, including basic system administration (emphasis on RHEL).
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies and domains.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including clusters and Container Network Interface (CNI).
  • Experience with inter-process communications (i.e., protobuf, gRPC, AMQ).
  • Working knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts, software-defined radio (SDR) frameworks, and real-time systems.
  • Knowledge of Open Systems architecture (OSA) standards such as MORA, BigIron, JICD, SOSA, CMOSS, OMS/UCI.
  • Experience in the Radio Frequency (RF) and Cyber Electronic Warfare (CEW) domains.
  • Experience working with distributed development teams in an agile development environment.
  • Ability/willingness to travel for test events.
  • Active TS or TS/SCI Clearance (or ability to obtain).
