About the position

The Staff Development Facilitator is responsible for supervising and coordinating training for Direct Support Professionals, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies. This role involves conducting training sessions, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with various departments to enhance staff capabilities and ensure effective onboarding of new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate Direct Support Professional Training.
  • Conduct CPR trainings to maintain employee certifications according to regulations.
  • Instruct and facilitate training classes as per schedule and directives.
  • Assist in training supervisory staff on various processes and documentation.
  • Complete audits of on-the-job training and maintain required documentation.
  • Conduct in-services to enhance staff understanding and abilities.
  • Collect and maintain required documentation for employees.
  • Assist with revision and implementation of employee training curriculum.
  • Schedule training and in-services for new employees.
  • Review and approve time sheets for new employees.
  • Ensure new employees follow policies and procedures, providing disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between new employees and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory training or experience preferred.
  • Possess CPR and TABE instructor certifications or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • BA or BS in Social Services field and 1 year of experience working with ID/DD population.
  • Willingness to accept supervision and follow specific training guidelines.
  • Ability to express self effectively in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all departments.
  • Sufficient physical stamina and mobility for lifting and carrying.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and office equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with training and development in a healthcare or social services setting.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to training and certification.
