About the position
The Staff Development Nurse RN at Wonder City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is responsible for overseeing the orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff. This role involves evaluating resident care practices, designing educational programs, and ensuring compliance with state standards. The position requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the facility and its staff.
Responsibilities
- Directs the orientation program for all new employees and schedules ongoing coordinated education in-services.
- Evaluates resident care practices throughout the facility and identifies instructional needs.
- Designs educational programs commensurate with needs.
- Documents all programming as required by state standards and maintains a reference library.
- Provides specialized training needs in all departments on request of Department Heads.
- Notifies Department Heads about scheduling of required staff education, immunizations and additional department education.
- Administers and records licensed staff competencies.
- Maintains staff immunization records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
- Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and facility needs.
Requirements
- Valid RN license
- At least one year experience in Staff Development required
