About the position

The Staff Educator for Educational Programs at McGovern Medical School is responsible for teaching Gross Anatomy to first-year medical students and guiding dissection projects for fourth-year medical students. This full-time position involves a collaborative approach to anatomy education, utilizing cadaver dissections, projections, and 3D models to enhance learning outcomes. The educator will also contribute to curriculum development and the creation of educational materials.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Gross Anatomy through cadaver dissection-based laboratory sessions.
  • Conduct small group, large group, and online educational sessions using various strategies.
  • Guide dissection projects in elective anatomy courses for fourth-year medical students.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and creation of educational materials.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in anatomy or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dissection-based teaching in the full regional spectrum of medical gross anatomy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching related disciplines in anatomical sciences (e.g., histology, embryology) is desirable.
