About the position

The Staff Electrical Engineer will be responsible for creating world-class electrical designs for a variety of projects, including power, process, corporate, healthcare, and industrial facilities. This role involves collaborating with project teams throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring that electrical plans meet budget constraints and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects including power plants, process facilities, and healthcare facilities.
  • Design electrical components based on project needs and requirements set by project managers.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections using CAD software.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program with 3 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam with 3 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and 2D/3D rendering programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
