About the position

The Staff Electrical Engineer will be an integral part of project teams, responsible for designing and modifying electrical systems for a diverse range of projects, including power plants, healthcare facilities, and government buildings. This role involves collaborating with project teams throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring that electrical plans meet client needs and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects including power plants and healthcare facilities.
  • Design electrical components based on project requirements set by project managers.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers using CAD software.
  • Compile information for client presentations and contract administration.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, along with 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and 2D/3D rendering programs.
