About the position

H2M architects engineers is seeking an entry-level Staff Electrical Engineer for their MEP/Electrical Department in Melville, New York. This role is ideal for recent graduates interested in electrical engineering, providing a strong learning environment to develop design knowledge, project management skills, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, computations, and evaluations for power distribution, emergency generators, I&C systems, fire alarms, CCTV systems, and lighting design.
• Conduct project administration tasks including gathering information, writing reports, drafting proposals, and tracking project costs.
• Coordinate with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm.
• Engage in client interaction and teamwork with other disciplines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power Systems.
• 0-2 years of design experience in a consulting environment.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• EIT/PE desired.
