About the position

The Staff Electrical Engineering Project Manager at Northrop Grumman is responsible for overseeing electrical engineering projects within the Tactical Space Division. This role involves engaging with various program and functional organizations to interpret project needs, manage day-to-day communications, and ensure project milestones are met. The EPM will utilize project management frameworks to control project performance, assess risks, and facilitate internal meetings to support design and production efforts. The position requires a strong background in project management, particularly in Earned Value Management (EVMS), and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and collaborate with program and functional organizations to understand project needs.
  • Manage day-to-day interfaces and communications between the PMO, Engineering Directorates, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain.
  • Baseline, manage, control, and close projects using a project management framework.
  • Coordinate control account cost and schedule performance throughout the project life cycle.
  • Assess, track, and mitigate cost and schedule risks using quantitative and predictive analyses.
  • Facilitate internal meetings to support design, production, and problem resolution.
  • Initiate and maintain program subcontracts and intra-company work orders.
  • Utilize engineering principles to facilitate production and design changes within the project team.
  • Support proposal efforts, including generating Basis of Estimate and schedules.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and +15 years of relevant work experience (or 13 years with a Master's Degree).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) training/certification.
  • Certification in Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Experience in leadership and project management, including EVMS or equivalent.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-organizational teams and customers.
  • Ability to present and communicate to a variety of audiences from peers to senior leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Business Management.
  • Experience working in Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, and/or Production environments.
