About the position
As a Software Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for developing next-generation technologies that enhance how billions of users connect and interact with information. This role involves working on critical projects that impact Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. You will leverage your technical expertise to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, while designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. Your contributions will focus on improving system software and the overall Pixel product experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Define, implement, and deliver broad changes to system software to improve the Pixel product.
- Scope, prototype, pitch, and execute system-level projects impacting Pixel Product goals.
- Provide expertise and consulting to partner organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
- Experience with Linux, Linux Drivers, and Linux Kernel.
- Experience with computer architecture.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- Experience with Android Board Support Package (BSP).
Benefits
- Base salary range of $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
