This position requires physical stamina, as it involves extensive walking on uneven terrain, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in unstable conditions using ladders and scaffolding. The Staff Engineer must maintain a high level of professionalism and quality in their work, as poor decisions can significantly affect the operational efficiency of SEARHC facilities and, consequently, patient care. Additionally, the role includes operating various shop tools and heavy equipment, maintaining inventory, and assisting in other program activities such as grounds maintenance and recycling. The Staff Engineer will also be responsible for documenting preventive maintenance work to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
