About the position

The Staff Engineer - Composites will manage industry programs, develop audit criteria, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves conducting audits, facilitating task group meetings, and collaborating with auditors to ensure compliance with industry standards. The engineer will also be responsible for technical reporting and maintaining proficiency in relevant technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned industry managed programs for task groups.
  • Develop audit criteria and consensus qualification procedures.
  • Recruit qualified auditors and publish audit/survey reports.
  • Conduct audit reviews with strict confidentiality and compliance.
  • Facilitate Task Group meetings and lead projects.
  • Provide technical summary reports to the assigned task group.
  • Conduct and participate in Auditor interviews and recruitment.
  • Identify and execute Auditor training.
  • Collaborate with Auditor Staffing to manage assigned Auditors and Audit Reviewers.
  • Conduct audits as required upon approval as an Auditor.
  • Lead medium PRI internal projects to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain proficiency in assigned technology areas by attending classes and conferences.
  • Adapt existing commodities to another Industry Managed Program (IMP).
  • Develop and manage budgets of assigned activities.
  • Support investigations initiated by the Ethics & Appeals Committee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in applicable technologies.
  • 5 years experience in Quality Systems, preferred.
  • 5 years experience working with technical industry standards, preferred.
  • Auditing experience / knowledge of Quality Management Systems, preferred.
  • 5 years experience in the Aerospace Industry, preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of appropriate science/engineering disciplines/methods.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to make presentations, data pulls, and analysis.
  • Demonstrates a functional understanding of all job knowledge skills, procedures, and processes.
  • Possesses English language oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates Leadership Potential and facilitates team-oriented work processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Quality Systems in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
