About the position

As a Staff Engineer, Data at Applecart, you will be responsible for optimizing the company's core targeting capabilities within the Identity & Ecosystem team. This role involves working collaboratively with a hybrid-remote team of software engineers to manage integrations with external APIs, large batch data processing pipelines, and entity resolution algorithms. You will play a key technical leadership role, partnering with Product and Tech leadership to shape the future of the company's technology.

Responsibilities

• Optimize Applecart's core targeting capabilities.
• Manage integrations with various external APIs.
• Develop and maintain large batch data processing pipelines.
• Implement entity resolution algorithms.
• Collaborate with Product and Tech leadership to set the technology direction.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with various storage/persistence engines including relational databases, document databases, and key/value stores.
• Experience with data warehousing architectures such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Redshift.
• Expertise in SQL.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks, particularly Apache Spark.
• Ability to manage AWS resources using infrastructure-as-code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience coaching less experienced team members.
• Familiarity with technical communication visuals.
