About the position

The Staff Engineer, Electrical Design at Celestica is responsible for developing new electrical systems and circuits for various applications. This role involves researching system ideas, creating schematics, testing, simulating, and validating systems, and providing support during manufacturing. The engineer will work in cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product development and enhance designs based on feedback from various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to a sizable team of engineers.
  • Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project, including people and financials.
  • Review and interpret customer requirements and act as the primary customer contact.
  • Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.
  • Develop deployment strategies and plans for strategic complex programs.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors and partners.
  • Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and company needs.
  • Test, simulate, and measure the performance of systems, including troubleshooting.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Analyze and interpret data and information to recommend modifications for systems.
  • Create reports, minutes, and updates.

Requirements

  • 9 to 12 years of related experience in similar job roles.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep knowledge of DC/DC power topologies and tradeoffs.
  • Experience in designing power systems for networking, compute, or storage products.
  • Experience in high current, high-phase count designs for ASICs and GPUs.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and CAD layout tools.
  • Proficient with circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE and LTSPICE.
  • Knowledge of high-density power modules and Vertical Power Delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PCB stack-up and power planes.
  • Ability to present to various audiences effectively.
