About the position

The Staff Engineer - Facilities position at Kennedy Jenks Consultants involves working within a multi-disciplined team to deliver engineering design and construction services across various industries, including mining, aerospace, and manufacturing. The role emphasizes innovation and sustainability, leveraging advanced analytics and technology to improve project outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Work on challenging projects in the mining and metals, aerospace, pulp and paper mill, food and beverage, and manufacturing industries.
  • Collaborate in a collegial and supportive multi-disciplined team-based environment on projects from initial planning stages through design construction and startup operations.
  • Deliver industrial engineering design and construction in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and California.
  • Conduct industrial engineering design, chemical and process calculations, bench and pilot testing, and provide engineering services during construction of projects.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical or other related field.
  • 0 - 5 years of engineering experience in planning, engineering, design, construction and commissioning.
  • Prior engineering experience with industrial water, industrial wastewater, mechanical infrastructure, system controls, process automation, water/mass balances, or process design is preferred.
  • Project development oversight and project management, including scope, schedule, fee preparation, negotiation, project staffing, and coordination of activities related to planning, design, and construction.
  • Ability to travel to client and project sites for client visits/meetings and other travel to other Kennedy Jenks offices as necessary.
  • Leverage existing client relationships to expand services.
  • Depending on years of experience, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain EIT within one year of employment, or Professional Engineer license is preferred.
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting (CAD) and design in similar applications (BlueBeam) is preferred.
