About the position

The Finance Data Solutions Architect at GEICO is responsible for building and maintaining a Finance Data Lake/Mart to support the Finance department's analytics and reporting needs. This role requires collaboration with both Finance and Technology teams to redesign data management processes, ensuring effective utilization of Finance data to meet business goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Finance Systems and ERP solutions, and will work closely with senior Finance leaders to develop technology roadmaps and implement analytical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage strong functional and technical systems expertise to drive solutions for Finance needs.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Support design sessions to ensure systems are efficient and meet business expectations.
  • Collaborate with Finance leaders and technology teams to meet organizational goals.
  • Establish a vision and technology roadmap for building out a Finance Data Lake.
  • Develop project roadmaps aligned with business objectives and resource availability.
  • Influence stakeholders and manage divergent expectations.
  • Implement a strong control and governance framework for SOX and Audit reviews.
  • Analyze and translate business specifications into technical specifications.
  • Share best practices and improve processes across teams.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry-leading ERP solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing and supporting FP&A applications.
  • 3+ years working with or supporting a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart.
  • 5+ years as a lead supporting Financials via major vendors (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, Workday, SAP).
  • Deep Finance domain expertise to interpret process and functional needs into system solutions.
  • Strong understanding of FP&A Budgeting, Planning, and Reforecasting processes.
  • Experience in implementing or supporting Revenue or Expense analytical solutions.
  • Good understanding of Accounting processes and reporting expectations.
  • Ability to communicate and work directly with users across Technology and Finance.
  • Sound understanding of project management techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
