In this role, you will focus on RISE Technologies, particularly our Open Fan architecture, which is set to revolutionize propulsion technology for next-generation aircraft. You will engage in Advanced Mechanical Design, where you will design and test innovative solutions that will define the future of our business. This hardware design role is crucial for the development of our next generation of aircraft engines. Once fully trained, you will have the flexibility of an optional hybrid schedule, allowing you to work in the office a minimum of three days per week while having the option to work from home on other days, depending on team and project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a module of existing hardware being repurposed for a new test campaign.
  • Complete hot gas path mechanical analyses and substantiate against program requirements.
  • Lead a team of rotor and static structural engineers to substantiate those components against program requirements.
  • Integrate collaboratively with diverse teams from multiple disciplinary functions such as thermal design, aero design, and systems design.
  • Communicate risks within their designs to appropriate stakeholders to help drive to collective decisions on how best to proceed as a diverse team.
  • Create innovative solutions that benefit the assigned hardware and overall module to meet broad design objectives.
  • Complete design reviews, drawing releases, quality requirements, assembly analyses, amongst other activities.
  • Complete other tasks or leadership roles as the program matures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 7 additional years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience for aerospace propulsion systems such as rotors, structures, or airfoil component design.

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Turbine Airfoil component design or analysis experience.
  • Collaborative style, valuing and enhancing diversity of teams.
  • Experience in solving mechanical design problems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
