About the position

As a Staff Engineer specializing in Thermal Hardware Design, you will lead the thermal design and development efforts for products within the Hardware Product Solutions team at Celestica. This role requires collaboration with various technical disciplines to create innovative thermal solutions that meet product specifications and support the integration of advanced cooling technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to advance thermal development by understanding leading edge cooling technologies.
• Support and influence the integration of thermal strategy across technical disciplines.
• Provide high quality thermal solutions/responses to support RFQs.
• Design robust thermal solutions to meet product specifications and cooperate with the Software team to implement fan speed control strategy.
• Conduct thermal simulation analysis from board to system level to verify thermal feasibility/risk.
• Document thermal test plans and perform thermal, airflow/impedance, and acoustic measurements.
• Interface with a multi-disciplinary group to define system requirements and design products.
• Work with heat sink and air mover vendors to manage cost, quality, and functionality.
• Collaborate with function teams to identify root causes of system failures.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Thermodynamic Engineering.
• Expertise in thermal design and development for server/storage and network products.
• Experience working in medium-sized multidisciplinary development teams.
