About the position

The Staff Flight Test Engineer will specialize in Mission Systems testing within the Test & Evaluation organization at Northrop Grumman. This role involves developing mission systems strategies for classified programs, leading test working group meetings, and mentoring less experienced engineers. The position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to define system requirements and develop test schedules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop mission systems strategies on a classified program.
• Define requirements for the systems under test in collaboration with the Mission Systems IPT.
• Decompose specifications to system performance, interface, test, and verification requirements.
• Lead system testing, reporting, and development of test procedures and data acquisition.
• Develop Mission/Model Based Test and Evaluation (MBT&E) strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of related experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience.
• Experience with requirements development including Systems Test Procedures for lab integration.
• Ability to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated government Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• 5 years of experience working with Mission Systems and/or Mission Systems testing.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience in Systems Test and/or Flight Test certification.
• Knowledge of lab processes, hardware testing, integration, and System Qualification Testing.
