About the position

Form Energy is seeking a Staff Global Supply Manager for Plastic Parts to lead the development and execution of the global supply chain strategy for critical plastic components used in our innovative iron-air battery systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Form Energy can deliver on its mission of providing renewable, reliable, and affordable energy storage solutions. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Global Supply Management and will be integral to the growth of our supply chain operations as we scale production at our new factory in Weirton, WV. In this role, you will take ownership of the plastic parts category, focusing on various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, thermoforming, rotomolding, and extrusion. You will be responsible for managing commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base, ensuring that we engage with the best suppliers in the industry. Your collaboration with Form's leadership, supply chain, engineering, and strategic supply teams will be crucial in defining and executing our sourcing strategy for plastic parts. Your responsibilities will include negotiating favorable commercial terms that optimize costs, lead times, and risks associated with sourcing. You will manage the entire sourcing process, from supplier development and qualification to negotiation and contracting. Additionally, you will conduct detailed price analyses to secure competitive pricing and implement strategies for continual cost reductions and logistics optimization. Monitoring market conditions and evaluating supplier capacities will also be key components of your role, as you work to ensure that Form Energy is aligned with best-in-class suppliers while mitigating potential risks.

Responsibilities

• Own the plastic parts category at Form, focusing on injection molded, thermoformed, rotomolded, and extruded plastic components.
• Collaborate closely with Form's Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Strategic Supply teams to define and drive execution of Form's plastic parts sourcing strategy.
• Negotiate and deliver favorable commercial terms for plastic parts that optimize costs, lead times, and risk to Form.
• Manage the end-to-end sourcing process from supplier development through qualification, negotiation, and contracting.
• Secure best-in-class pricing for plastic parts through detailed price analysis and negotiations, continual cost reductions, cost avoidance, and logistics optimization.
• Monitor current category market conditions, evaluating supplier capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps, and supply/demand challenges & opportunities.
• Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers and mitigating risks by rigorously analyzing component and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in global supply chain management, particularly in sourcing plastic components.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable commercial terms.
• Ability to analyze market conditions and supplier capabilities effectively.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships and contracts.
• Familiarity with various plastic manufacturing processes such as injection molding, thermoforming, rotomolding, and extrusion.
