Join our collaborative and enthusiastic Timing Applications Engineering team as a Staff Hardware Applications Engineer at Skyworks. Our timing applications engineering team is laser-focused on solving our customers' technically challenging timing and clock synchronization needs utilizing our broad portfolio of timing products. Our timing product portfolio consists of clock generation, buffering, jitter-attenuation, and network synchronization devices covering a wide performance spectrum. We strive to thoroughly understand our customers' use-cases, applications, and requirements to present the best possible timing solution to the customer. In this role, you will work closely with both worldwide customers and internal teams in marketing, systems, design, quality, and product test to ensure our products, and their competitive advantages, are well understood and being successfully designed into our customers' end products and system applications. Our customers' products typically require high-performance clocking solutions critical to their product's success. We are looking for individuals with superior technical competence and communication skills who are good at identifying and solving technical challenges, and then communicating best-in-class solutions to a wide range of customers. Therefore, candidates for this position will need to have both relevant industry experience and direct technical knowledge in key areas such as mixed signal and pure digital board-level circuit design, signal analysis and measurement in both time and frequency domains, and practical and theoretical knowledge of PLLs, filters, and oscillators. As a Staff Hardware Applications Engineer, you will be the technical expert on focused segments of our Timing product line within our overall Applications Engineering team. You will provide direct technical assistance to customers regarding product usage, features, applications, trade-offs, and benefits. Additionally, you will assist sales and marketing teams by providing technical expertise in both a pre and post-sales capacity to help drive product design wins and direction of future products. Your responsibilities will also include designing, debugging, and documenting product evaluation boards and/or other support boards, developing new product launch collateral such as datasheets, technical reference manuals, application notes, compliance test reports, and related documents, and validating device use case scenarios to ensure device-related hardware, firmware, and our ClockBuilder Pro software meet expected functionality and performance.
