About the position

The Staff Hardware Engineer will lead the design and development of innovative network technologies, focusing on Ethernet and Serializer/De-Serializer (SerDes) technologies. This role requires exceptional collaboration skills to work with internal teams and semiconductor partners, driving innovation and effective communication within the team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, manage multiple projects, and possess a commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of network technologies, particularly Ethernet and SerDes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and semiconductor partners on electronic control unit (ECU) design.
  • Drive innovation and facilitate effective communication within the team.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Provide thought leadership and inspire enthusiasm within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in hardware design and development.
  • Understanding of automotive Ethernet, SerDes, and/or CAN network architecture.
  • Experience with semiconductor bring-up and ECU hardware development.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, and automation tools.
  • Experience with schematic design and system signal integrity.
  • Exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree/PhD in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, particularly in embedded systems and automotive applications.
  • Industry expertise in Ethernet, SerDes, and/or CAN application engineering through work at a semiconductor company.
