Supermicro® is seeking a Staff Hardware Design Engineer who will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing DC-DC power conversion systems specifically for X86 or GPU servers. This position requires a deep understanding of power electronics and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that power systems meet stringent performance, efficiency, and reliability standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and optimizing DC-DC power conversion systems, which includes designing multiphase converters and other essential components such as LDOs, POLs, load switches, hot-swaps, and e-fuses. The role also involves selecting components that optimize performance and solutions for X86 servers. In addition to design responsibilities, the Staff Hardware Design Engineer will engage in system integration, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to effectively integrate power systems into server architectures. This includes conducting rigorous testing and validation of power systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards. The engineer will also be tasked with diagnosing and resolving issues related to power systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Maintaining detailed documentation of designs, test results, and troubleshooting procedures is essential, as is staying updated with the latest advancements in power electronics to implement innovative solutions that enhance system performance. This position requires regular in-office attendance, emphasizing the importance of in-person collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities.
