About the position

The Interior Designer/Space Planner will be responsible for preparing designs, specifications, and conceptual estimates for interior work related to government, airport, and commercial facilities. This role involves creating and implementing interior design and space planning strategies to ensure project completion, while maintaining compliance with building standards and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare designs, specifications, and conceptual estimates for interior work.
  • Create, design, and implement interior design and space planning strategies.
  • Compile data and provide elementary design computations.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal design plans and renderings.
  • Research and recommend interior design products, colors, finishes, and materials.
  • Lead construction administration activities through site visits and schedule reviews.
  • Maintain conformance with building standards and applicable codes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a similar field is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Interior Design or a related field.
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Revit and other 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumion.
  • Expertise in architectural drawings, calculations, and 3-D visual simulations.
  • Knowledge of architectural principles and theory related to project design.
