The Interior Designer/Space Planner will play a crucial role in preparing designs, editing specifications, and conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and renovation projects related to government, airport, and commercial facilities. This position is responsible for creating, designing, and implementing comprehensive interior design and space planning strategies that ensure a seamless flow throughout the project lifecycle. The designer will prepare detailed designs, perform quantity calculations, and produce diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings specifically tailored for aviation and federal facilities. In addition to design preparation, the Interior Designer/Space Planner will compile data and provide elementary design computations, assisting in the development of internal design plans and renderings. A significant aspect of this role includes furniture purchasing and reconfiguration, ensuring that all selections align with the overall design vision. The designer will also conduct thorough research on interior design products, making informed recommendations based on current trends and standards. This includes selecting appropriate colors, finishes, and materials that enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of the spaces being designed. The position requires the designer to lead construction administration activities, which involve conducting site visits and reviewing project schedules to ensure that all work is progressing according to plan.
