About the position

Lockheed Martin's Spectrum Convergence, part of the Rotary & Mission Systems business area, is seeking a Staff Linux Systems Administrator. This position requires the candidate to initially relocate for one month to King of Prussia, PA, followed by a full-time relocation to Guam for a duration of 6-12 months, with the possibility of extension. As a Systems Administrator, you will work in an agile scrum environment, providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various Information Technology (IT) systems. Your role will involve managing IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices. You will also be responsible for patching and hardening the Linux RedHat OS and collaborating with security personnel to protect against cyber threats. This assignment is classified as an expatriate assignment and requires a TS/SCI security clearance to start.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various IT systems in an agile scrum environment.
  • Manage IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Patch and harden Linux RedHat OS and work with security personnel to protect against cyber threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with 7 years of professional experience, or 5 years of professional experience with a Master's degree, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Advanced professional experience with Linux system administration.
  • Experience in software practices and configuration management.
  • Scripting experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • RedHat OS patching/hardening experience.
  • Experience with RedHat OpenShift and AWX.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, team environment.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Experience using C/C++ or another object-oriented development language.
