About the position

The Ads Signal team at Pinterest is focused on building machine learning (ML) signals to enhance advertising performance and address various business challenges. This role involves researching and applying advanced ML techniques to improve feature processing in ranking and retrieval models, developing systems that lead to significant improvements in ad performance, and mentoring team members in best practices.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply cutting-edge ML techniques to improve feature processing in ranking/retrieval models.
• Develop techniques to better transfer feature/label information cross-domain.
• Be hands-on and develop models and systems that lead to step-function improvements in ads performance.
• Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers and cross-functional teams to identify gaps and opportunities.
• Push the adoption of new signals and technologies across multiple components in the ads delivery funnel.
• Serve as a technical mentor to team members, setting an example for best practices and impact.

Requirements

• MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of industry experience in Recommender Systems, Monetization, and Ads Delivery funnel (Ads Ranking and/or Ads Retrieval) domains.
• Strong software engineering and mathematical skills with knowledge of machine learning.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale online recommendation/ads systems.
