About the position

The Staff Machine Learning Engineer for Ads Signals at Pinterest is responsible for developing and innovating machine learning signals to enhance advertising performance. This role involves hands-on model development, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and mentoring team members to uphold best practices in machine learning and software engineering. The position is integral to improving the ads delivery funnel and requires a strong background in recommender systems and online advertising.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply cutting edge ML techniques to improve feature processing in ranking/retrieval models.
• Develop techniques to better transfer feature/label information cross-domain.
• Be hands-on and develop models and systems that lead to step-function improvements in ads performance.
• Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers to understand gaps/opportunities and push adoption of new signals/technologies across multiple components in ads delivery funnel.
• Serve as a technical mentor to team members, setting an example for best practices and impact.

Requirements

• MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
• 6+ years of industry experience with related background in Recommender Systems, Monetization, and Ads Delivery funnel (Ads Ranking and/or Ads Retrieval) domains.
• Strong software engineering and mathematical skills with knowledge of machine learning.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale online recommendation/ads systems.
