As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for the Content Understanding team at Pinterest, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing the horizontal knowledge graph and content understanding signals that are essential for our personalized recommendation systems. This position requires a deep understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and multimodal modeling techniques to create content signals that enhance user experience across various Pinterest ecosystems, including discovery, growth, and ads. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of model development, from initial modeling to deployment and serving, ensuring that our systems are robust and scalable to handle the vast amount of data generated by our over 500 million monthly active users. In this role, you will gather and analyze data to build effective data-driven models that improve our recommendation capabilities. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with surface engineering teams and product teams to identify opportunities for enhancing content and user understanding. You will also drive the technical strategy at the team level, tackling complex problems independently and contributing to the overall success of Pinterest's mission to help users discover and do the things they love. Pinterest's new progressive work model, PinFlex, allows for a flexible approach to work, where you will be expected to be in the office for in-person collaboration at least once a week.
