About the position

The Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Angi plays a pivotal role in transforming the company into a world-class online marketplace. This technical leadership position involves developing and deploying machine learning models to enhance user experience, optimize product offerings, and improve consumer engagement. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and a focus on innovation and mentorship within the Data Science and Machine Learning team.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of machine learning models and algorithms to improve search ranking and consumer-pro matching.
• Implement robust MLOps practices for seamless deployment and scalability of machine learning models.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers to build scalable machine learning systems.
• Foster innovation by exploring new approaches and techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Guide junior team members and promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields).
• 7+ years of experience in data science & machine learning, focusing on real-time ML models, ideally in tech industry & marketplace environments.
• Expertise in machine learning and deep learning, with knowledge of large language models.
• Proven track record of deploying impactful machine learning models into production environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in cloud ML solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
