About the position

The Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Angi will play a pivotal role in transforming the company into a world-class online marketplace. This position involves leading the development and deployment of machine learning models to enhance user experience, engagement, and conversion rates. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and a focus on innovation and mentorship within the Data Science and Machine Learning team.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of machine learning models and algorithms to improve search ranking and consumer-pro matching.
• Implement robust MLOps practices for seamless deployment and scalability of machine learning models.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers to build scalable machine learning systems.
• Foster innovation by exploring new approaches and techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Guide junior team members and promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields).
• 7+ years of experience in data science & machine learning, focusing on real-time ML models, ideally in tech industry & marketplace environments.
• Expertise in machine learning and deep learning, with knowledge of large language models.
• Proven track record of deploying impactful machine learning models into production environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in cloud ML solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
