About the position

The Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Actalent is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex algorithms for various applications including controller design, system identification, signal processing, and dataset analysis using AI and ML techniques. This role involves engaging in diverse AI projects, collaborating with engineering teams, and leading the exploration of Large Language Models and Generative AI. The engineer will also conduct laboratory research on algorithm design and validation, while fostering an innovative environment within the team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex algorithms for controller design, system identification, signal processing, and dataset analysis using AI and ML techniques.
• Engage in various AI projects, including physics-based model development and Generative AI for EUV source development.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML models and solutions, ensuring alignment with product goals.
• Lead the exploration and application of Large Language Models and Generative AI.
• Participate in all stages of model development from ideation to deployment.
• Work with large-scale datasets and engage in hands-on algorithm development.
• Apply scientific and mathematical control design principles to potential inventions and products using ML techniques.
• Conduct laboratory research on algorithm design and validation, as well as ML model development and evaluation.
• Set the strategic direction for the team and foster an environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.

Requirements

• An advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
• Ongoing professional development in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence domains is expected.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with semiconductor equipment.
• Familiarity with computer vision, AR/VR, and document intelligence.
